	Mainstay of the band is [[Mayo Thompson]], whose sweat-drenched figure drew some abuse and heckling from the crowd, probably because of his very "square" appearance and his eccentric, faintly comical vocals. His tinkling, jazzy-sounding guitar hid discreetly behind the more strident saxophone of Lora Logic and these two were sometimes complemented on vocals by The Raincoats' bassist Gina Birch, whose relaxed style thankfully added variety to the group's static stage presence.
