After Math

After Math is the second novella by Mayo Thompson, published in September 2023. It is a sequel to Art, Mystery.

Mayo Thompson published his first novel Art, Mystery in 2018. Progress on a sequel was mentioned in 2020.^[1]

On April 4, 2023, After Math: Art, Mystery Part II was announced by Drag City and became available to pre-order.^[2]

The book was released on September 1, 2023.^[3]

Synopsis

After Math details what becomes of the cast of characters introduced in Art, Mystery, joint and severally pursuing an erotic Rinascimento statuette attributed to Antonio Pollaiuolo, a pursuit that lands them in court. On the way, their collective and singular fates are unfolded and accounted for, the consequences of the truth of matters for them are brought to bear and a kind of rough justice is seen to have been done, as is appropriate in rough trade.
